September 27, 1942 – November 7, 2021

He was a man greatly loved by God, family, and his friends. His devotion to family and his firm belief in God sustained him in his struggle with Parkinsons. He was 79 years old and a native of Mansura, La. He was called to his eternal home on November 7, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Odell Desselle Sr., of Mansura. Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Catherine, of 57 years; their children, Melaine Kyle and husband Danny, Kevin Desselle and wife Melissa, Carrie Desselle Whatley and husband Gary and Chad Desselle and wife Jenny. Adopted by heart and in name, our daughter-in-law Jenny and son-in-law, Gary. Also survived by his sister, Thelma Guillot of Hessmer, LA. Being blessed with twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and is known to them as “Paw Paw Honey”. He was a member of Family Worship Center for 23 years. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, in Denham Springs, on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 1pm until Celebration of Life Service at 3pm, conducted by Rev. Dale Usay.     My sincere heartfelt condolences to the entire family I enjoyed coming to see him and he looked forward to me coming. Continual prayers for the entire family to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord …Much love ❤️

    He will always have special memories for me. His friendship with my father and how he and Ms. Catherine welcomed our Georgia transplanted family in and taught us all about Cajun food and culture. God so blessed us when he brought this man in our lives. I know Catherine, Melanie, Kevin, Carrie and Chad will miss him greatly as will all his grandchildren and great grands

    My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Mr. Pete was a man amongst men. I will always remember that fabulous smile. His personality was larger than life and his ability to make you laugh.
