Earl Ray McDonald, Sr., was born on January 23, 1934, in Doyle, Louisiana and departed for his heavenly home at the age of 87, on November 11, 2021. Earl was the 5th child of 13 born to Virgil and Irene Tate McDonald. He was saved at an early age and was raised in church. In 1953 he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany for 2 years. After the military he returned home to Doyle (Livingston). He visited the local cafe in town where he met the love of his life. Their first date was attending a Sunday morning church service and it wasn’t until that date that they learned each other’s names. They were married on June 27, 1958. Earl was a member of Local 1098 and made a living using his hands working construction to provide for his family; a hard worker that never stopped. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Stella Glascock McDonald; 3 children: sons Earl Ray Jr. and wife Tammy, Jody and wife Kim; daughter Candiace Gordon and husband Pat; 10 grandchildren: Trent, Seth, Laura, Patrick, Lillie, Jesse, Emma, Sadie, Landon and Nathaniel; 9 great grandchildren: Oakley, Payzlee, Brody, Grady, Leo, Jocelyn, Londyn, Easton and Jaxon; 1 brother Leslie “Buster”, 3 sisters.. Anna Kuhn, Daisy Lemoine and Violet Ellis and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Dallas, Jessie, Lee Alton, Clifton, Roy and Bob; sisters: Virgie Watson and Judy Leach. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, in Livingston, on November 17, 2021 from 10 AM until Celebration of Life Service at 2 PM, burial will follow at Gateway Gardens in Livingston. Services will be conducted by nephews Bryan Taylor, Jeff Taylor and Jed Glascock. Pallbearers will be Trent McDonald, Seth McDonald, Jesse McDonald, Patrick Gordon, Zach Glascock and Austin Gothard. Earl was a man of God that was loved by all that knew him, and he will be dearly missed. Please sign our online registry book.
