James Randall Strickler, “Strick” “Randy”

There is an appointed time for everything and every event under Heaven; a  time to be born and a time to die. At the end, life is only a story. Make it a good one.  Randy drew his last breath at 7:38 a.m. on January 6, 2022, after a lengthy illness and debilitating pain with his wife at his side. A native of Jennings and a resident of Denham Springs, he leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 13 years Lisa English Strickler; loving daughters Tiffany Damicone of Columbus, Ohio; and Heather Ballard of Gonzales; two sons-in-law Lucas Damicone and John Ballard; two grandchildren Leo Damicone and Flynn Ballard; brother Henry “Hank” and wife Julie  Strickler of Gonzales; his sister Peggy and husband Fred Gary of Moss Bluff; sister Stephanie Strickler of Sulphur; three stepchildren Shaun, Rachel and Kayla Rushing; father-in-law Terry English of Baton Rouge, and numerous friends, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Henry and Lorraine Strickler of Jennings; sisters Judith Frioux of New Iberia and Juevonne Miller of Sulphur, and mother-in-law Alice “Babe” English of Baton Rouge. A rascal as a child and a charmer as an adult, he lived to make people laugh and smile. With a personality magically infectious to all who knew him, he brought joy into a room instantly. The Celebration of Life will be held  (in Randy style) Friday, January 14, from 3-7 p.m. in the banquet facility of the Santa Maria BREC Golf Course, 18460 Santa Maria Parkway, Baton Rouge.  Food and refreshments will be served.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Louisiana underprivileged and disabled veterans’ families at the website: “la.egov.com/dva/mfadonations.”

I’m so sad to hear this. He was a neighbor of ours growing up. The scar on his face came from when he ran into our air conditioner on his mini bike. My brother passed away in September- him and Randy were childhood friends. Our deepest sympathies to his family
