Ernest “Pete” Chelette passed away January 26, 2022 at his home in Ponchatoula at the age of 73. Ernest was a kind man who never met a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off of his back. He loved spending time with his family and he loved them very much. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Ernest is survived by his wife Debbie Chelette, his children, Julie and Brady.     I miss you so much grandpa and your little jokes of calling me nicknames that i’ll never forget. You were the closest grandpa I had to the point it doesn’t even feel real that you’re gone. I hope you’re happier and more lively where ever you are I just wanted to thank you for all the great memories you gave me and the small trinkets that I thought didn’t mean anything then, now they mean everything to me because you gave them to me. I love you so much grandpa I hope you rest in peace.❤️🕊

    Mr. Pete was a kind and generous man who always joked around with everyone. Just to know that he’s now in Heaven with Jesus dancing and praising. Lord give this blessed family peace and guidance. I’m praying for y’all

    Debbie, Julie, Brady & Family – I was so sorry when I heard about Uncle Pete’s passing. Heartbreaking. He was one of a kind. I will remember all of the fun times we had together growing up. Prayers for your family. Donna, Brian and Kacey.
