Jerry Charles Pourcy, pastor of Grace Bible Study, passed away at Ochsner Medical Center of Baton Rouge on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the age of 64.  Jerry was born on January 5, 1958, and was predeceased by his father, Louis Pourcy and his brother, Jack Pourcy. Jerry was survived by his loving wife (of 44 years), Eleanor Clair Holifield Pourcy and is lovingly remembered by his mother: Merlie May Hunt; his siblings: Jan Bridges and James Pourcy; his children: Christopher Pourcy, Jeremy Pourcy and Jessica Hibbard; and his nine (9) grandchildren: Christian (Zane) Pourcy, Seth Pourcy, Kate Pourcy, Ian Pourcy, Kale Hibbard, Angel Pourcy, Brian Allen, Jaici Allen and Maryn Allen.  Jerry was the pastor of Grace Bible Study for 32 years.  He set a great example of following after God by allowing the Holy Spirit to guide his steps.  His devotion of sharing Christ with everyone he met is a legacy we want to continue. In memory of Jerry, his family wants to continue his legacy by sharing the following scriptures in the hopes that someone reading this might accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” – Romans 10:9 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” – Romans 10:13

Visitation for Jerry’s Memorial is from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on April 2, 2022, followed by a Memorial Service starting at 11:00 pm at First Denham Church, 27735 LA Highway 16, Denham Springs, LA 70726.

I never met Brother Jerry, but enjoyed his on line bible studies so very much. His teaching will be missed greatly, but I know his family finds such comfort from the Lord and knowing he is with the Lord Jesus.

Brother Jerry helped me a lot in my studies in the scriptures. I may not see him in person but I met him in spirit in Christ and his soul remaineth in my heart. Those few years I only knew brother Jerry but his legacy is eternal for me. And indeed I will meet him in the future which no longer online but face to face. What a sweet by and by, brother Jerry taught me more to love God the Father and Jesus Christ than anyone could do. He is a blessing to me from from heaven in God’s throne. There are many things that I can say about him, and here’s to sum up, his labour is not in vain in the Lord, I’m sur there are many like me who was blessed so much in his diligent studying in the scriptures and his love toward God and his Son Jesus Christ.
