Brenda Poche` Tourere, 72 years of age, was called to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 31, 2022, after battling cancer for almost 2 years. A service will follow at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Brenda was born on November 26, 1949, in Plaquemine, LA to the late Peter “Jimmy” Sr. and Marian Poche`. She was a devoted wife to Henry Norman Tourere Sr. for 54 years. Brenda was the eldest of four children. Brenda was educated at Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, LA. She then furthered her education at Manuel Cooper Beauty College. As fond as she was of cosmetology, being a homemaker superseded them all. Brenda’s pride and joy was being a wife, mother, and grandmother to a family she loved dearly. Along with her eye for beauty, she thrived in her work at the Boutique where she practiced what she loved most, fashion. She is preceded in death by her son Henry “Hank” Tourere Jr., father and mother Peter “Jimmy” Sr. and Marian Poche`, Grandmother Thelma “Big Mawmaw” Jarreau, mother and father-in-law Bernie and Regina Tourere, sister-in-law Jo Ann “Tinnie” Ackal, brother-in-law Russell Young, and nephew Derrick Bonvillain. She is survived by her husband, Henry Norman Tourere Sr. Three siblings, Peter “Jimmy” Jr. and his wife Dena Poche`, Robert “Robby” Poche`, and DeeAnn Cardy. Two children Amy Kuehn and Todd Tourere. Six grandchildren, Shelby Tourere, Matthew Kuehn, Madison Tourere, Eric Kuehn, Travis Tourere, and Rachael Tourere. Additionally, countless relatives that were dear to her heart. Brenda leaves us with the memory of her gentle personality, sweet voice, and soft smiles. She will be immensely missed by her family and friends. May she dwell in the house of the Lord forever

She was a true beauty inside and out. If you needed a friend she was there and the best one you could count on. I only knew her a short time but she left footprints 👣 in my life. It was a privilege to know her and feel her love. She will be missed and loved dearly. We have a true angel to watch over us. Always loved and never forgotten.
