Sunday Ozemebhoya Eikhenomian was born 73 years ago in Afuda which is situated in Esan Central, Edo State, Nigeria. He passed away on March 2, 2022, in New Orleans, USA. He was a resident of Zachary, Louisiana at the time of his death. He was a retired Police officer. He migrated to the United States in 2019.

Sunday is survived by his wife of 49 years: Mrs. Helen Eikhenomian, seven (7) sons – Eric, Benjamin, Ojieifo, Samuel, Paul, lyere, and Emmanuel, three daughters-in-law – Eunice, Ann, and Helen and fifteen (15) grandchildren Daniel, Gabriel, Michael, Joy, Irene, Stephanie, Enoch, Esther, Eunice, Amelia, Fidelia, Sophia, Joel, Grace, and Alyssa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ojebor Eikhenomian, his mother, Ebaholo Eikhenomian, and his daughter-in-law Yemisi Eikhenomian.

Sunday was a faithful husband, a dedicated father, and a lover of knowledge. He ensured that all his children were educated. He was a great role model to his children and to everyone he had interacted with.

As a peace-loving man filled with integrity, he dedicated his life to conflict resolution. He lived a life of great impact and worked tirelessly touching lives positively in his local community. Because of his immense contributions to his community, he was recognized and inducted into Afuda’s Elder Council (Edion).

As a man who has contributed all his energy and time to the advancement of society, he won a lot of accolades during his 35 years of service to his fatherland as a civil servant.

As a father par excellence, he loved and provided for his family to the best of his ability. He loved outdoor events and enjoyed taking his grandchildren to the park to have fun.

His lasting memories will remain in the heart of those he left behind and they shall cherish him forever.

Sunday left an unforgettable mark of dutiful service, hard work, diligence, and determination.

He left indelible footprints in the sands of time, and we hope that God will give us, the immediate family, the fortitude to bear this great loss. We pray that God will grant his soul eternal repose.

Though his physical presence will be greatly missed, his work and honor will remain eternally in his family and society. May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace. Amen

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Spring, on Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Azalea Rest Cemetery, Zachary.
