Graveside services for Elaine Moore, 76, will be at 10:00am June 4, 2022 at Evergreen Memorial Park Denham Springs, La.

Elaine Marie Moore, born to Charles and Gladys Houston on April 30, 1946 in Simmesport, Louisiana. Elaine was raised in Del City, Oklahoma, graduating from Del City High School in 1964. After graduation she attended Conners State College, Warner, Oklahoma where she met the love of her life, George Allen Moore.  They married at St Philip Neri Catholic Church, Midwest City, Oklahoma on April 15, 1966. After George completed his military duty and the birth of their first son David Allen Moore, they returned to Louisiana where her other two sons John Charles Moore (Charlotte Ebarb) and Bryan Frederick Moore (Windy Cline) were born.

After her boys were grown she discovered her love of antiques. The Painted Lady

Antique store brought both George and Elaine much joy while traveling all over the country looking for the next great find. Waiting to meet her in heaven is husband George (Sept. 17, 2009), her parents Charles and Gladys Houston, and brother Johnny B. Houston (Susan) .

Along with her sons she is survived by her sisters Katherine Miller (Larry) of Moore, Oklahoma and Patricia Maples, San Antonio, Texas, four grandchildren, Hayley, Brooklyn, Bryan and Caleb Moore, and her special cousin Bernadette Lawrence whom she considered another sister  also her niece she consider as a daughter Nanette Young as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to acknowledge special contributions by friends, Catherine St. Pierre, Randee Allen, Alethea Harper and Crysta Barbazon.

    Elaine was a wonderful and kind friend. We shared our love of antiquing and spent many days treasure hunting. I will miss the fun and laughs we shared but will hold all the memories in my heart. I know you have found your place in heaven.

    I’m so very sorry…. I’ll miss seeing her on my occasional drop in visits… Especially my Christmas cookie neighbor deliveries…
