October 19, 1943 – July 7, 2022

Billy Joe Foster, known to friends and family as BJ or Sonny, born October 19, 1943, passed away Thursday July 7, 2022, surrounded by the family he loved. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Ann Foster, his parents Douglas and Cleola Foster, his brothers Carl Dean and Erby Gene, and his daughter-in-law Tressie Foster. He is survived by his sisters and their husbands Shirley and Pat Hawkins, Charlotte and Jerry Thomas, his sons and their wives Bill and Nicole, Larry and Charlotte, Gene and Devon, his eight grandchildren Patrick, William, Chase, Brennan, Lauren, Drake, Kirk, Evan and his nine great grandchildren. He worked in the aluminum industry for 51+ years and leaves behind a legacy at Atlantic Alumina, Gramercy and Jamaica plants, that will be impossible to replace. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather who taught his children that family comes first, hard work is rewarded, and love is unconditional. Services are to be held Friday July 15, at First Baptist Church 27735 LA-16, Denham Springs, LA 70726. Visitation 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Services at noon with graveside services to follow.

    I served in Viet Nam with Billy Joe Foster. Not sure if this is the same person but I have attempted to locate him since retirning from the war. All he ever talked about was life in Kentucky.
    If this is the same person I can only say that he was a great friend and a good patrol buddy. We were together every day, good and bad. He will be missed.
