Linda Major Stelly, 81, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 7:53 p.m. at her residence in Walker, La. after a courageous battle with cancer. She is now resting peacefully in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. Linda was born on September 14, 1940 in New Roads, La. and resided in Baton Rouge where she lived most of her life. She later moved to Denham Springs, and eventually made Walker, La. her home for the last few years of her life. She graduated from Rougon High School in Rougon, La. and later attended college where she studied business. She was a long-time admissions clerk at Woman’s Hospital from which she retired.

Linda was known for her beautiful smile, caring heart, warm hugs, and wonderful sense of humor. She was always dressed very stylish and adorned with beautiful jewelry. She had an extreme devotion to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved dancing, painting, crafts, reading, playing on her I-pad, gardening, watching movies, and attending events at the Council on Aging. She loved visiting friends and family and never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her courage, her strength, and her will to live her life to the fullest. She had an infectious laugh and giving nature. She put up a strong fight against her numerous health concerns over the years. Linda’s legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all that were blessed by her presence in their lives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucien Major Sr, and Lillian David Major; brothers, Lucien Major Jr. and Ronald Dale Major; sister, Doris Ducote; former spouses, Harry Joseph Navarre and Charles Ray Stelly; daughter, Christie Navarre McCallum.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary Harilyn Navarre (Charles Brown); two sons, Mark Lucien Navarre (Monica); Joseph Darron Navarre (Vanessa); sister, Gaynell Suir (Ronald); sister-in-law, Shirley Major, bonus children, Lisa Simoneaux (Craig); Liz Hoyt (Johnny); grandchildren, Amber Gaudin (Justin); Dallas Wilson (Trace); Cody Navarre (Chelsea); Aja Davis (Robert); Alysa Brown and fiancé Jeremy Jacques, Randon McCallum and fiancé, Dillon Magnolia, Taylor Ann Navarre, Lawson Navarre, and numerous bonus grandchildren from her previous marriage, great grandchildren, Jaylee, Gavin, and Aislyn Llewellyn, Sawyer Wilson, Brooks and Brady Davis, Easton and Maddyn Jacques, Bryson, Jarrett, Bennett, and Stevie June Navarre, nieces and nephews, and her loving and devoted friends and family who offered encouragement and support throughout her life.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Hoyt, Johnny Hoyt, Cody Navarre, Lawson Navarre, Dustin Pinell, Glennon Pinell III and Craig Simoneaux.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 South Range Avenue, Denham Springs, La. from 5 p.m.to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 14,2022 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. with burial following. The service will be conducted by Father Brent Maher of St Agnes Catholic Church of Baton Rouge, LA. A reception will follow at the home of Darron and Vanessa Navarre at 8829 Greenleaves Drive, Denham Springs, La. Friends and family are invited to mingle and share their memories of Linda and enjoy refreshments. Food donations may be received at the residence starting at 9 a.m. until the start of the reception.

    I feel so blessed to have had Linda as a friends. She was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.
