Dean Fife, 59, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at his home in Baker, Louisiana. Dean was a true outdoorsman, enjoying any time he had in nature. But his joy was fishing. Dean was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, LA, Sunday, September 18, from 11 a.m. until the celebration of his life at 1 p.m. He is survived by his children, Micah Fife and Tyler Fife (Jodie); grandchildren, Kierstyn, Blakely, and Calum; siblings, Wendy Fife Jones (Mark), Barbie Fife Hano (Mark), and David Fife; as well as many other relatives and friends. Dean was my deceased father’s best friend. My daddy was Ned Haskew. He did so much for my daddy after daddy was diagnosed with cancer. I asked my daddy what he wanted to do while he was still somewhat able to get out and go, and he told me that he wanted to go fishing in the marshes one last time. I told Dean and then I asked him if he could possibly take daddy fishing for us. We offered to pay him for his time, but he wouldn’t hear of it. Not only did Dean take daddy fishing but he took him for an entire weekend, and they stayed in Dean’s camper trailer. My daddy was so weak and tired that he was only able to fish for an hour or two, but Dean made sure that daddy had a nice trip. He had bought a whole bunch of food and drinks and made sure that daddy’s comfort was at the forefront. He had blankets and a pillow on the boat in case daddy needed to lie down. He was so thoughtful and considerate. He always went above and beyond as a friend, not only to my daddy but to everyone he came across. I will never forget the care that Dean showed to my daddy and our entire family, and how he stayed very near to our house (Maurepas) when daddy’s time to die had come. Dean came as quickly as he could after he received the phone call that daddy was gone. He never failed to step up and do anything he could do for us. We never had to ask him for help. He just did things that needed to be done. Even after daddy died, Dean still came by often to check on us.
I’ll never forget that he always made homemade lemon pies from his lemon tree for us at Thanksgiving and Christmas time. He was such a kind and gentle soul. We didn’t know that Dean had moved to Baker, or we would have repaid my daddy’s debt. We would have tried to be there for Dean as he was here for us. Our world will never be the same again.
If you never met Dean, you lost out on knowing a wonderful human being.

The Fife family,
So sorry to hear of Dean’s passing. He was a customer of ours at one time (Winner’s Cycle). He was such a
sweet person. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. May he Rest in Peace and my God bless all of you.
