September 22, 2022by SealeUser2

Gregory Ford Allinger “Greg” passed away August 20, 2022 in Baton Rouge, LA. Greg was born October 9, 1984 in Atlanta, GA. He is missed dearly and survived by his sons Ashton and Jaxon, fiance Jackie Brinkley, parents Kim and Alan Klein, Doug Allinger and Shanna Lelli, grandparents Carl Ford and Janice Allinger, sister Megan Beezley, half-siblings Ian Allinger and Amara Allinger-Arnold, step-siblings Erin Clapham, Kevin Klein, Danny Klein, Brittney Callister, and Regan Lelli, and their families. Greg is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Peggy Ford, and paternal grandfather, Donald Allinger.

Greg’s greatest joy in life was his two sons, whom he described as his entire world. Always up for adventure or a good time, Greg loved live music, being outdoors, especially near water, and spending time with friends and family. Greg was creative, imaginative and resourceful, a talented grill and smoker cook and accomplished tattoo artist.

As a journeyman pipefitter with Baton Rouge Local Union 198, Greg is remembered fondly by his coworkers as hard-working, dedicated and versatile.

Happiest in the mountains or at the beach, Greg enjoyed hiking, fishing, snowboarding, fireworks, and laughing. Unabashedly himself, and a dedicated friend to all he met, Greg was generous, loyal, and cared deeply for the people in his life, and always saw the best in people. As an organ donor, Greg’s generous nature continued after his death by giving the gift of extended life to four people waiting on the transplant list.

A celebration of Greg’s life will be held at 2pm EST on his birthday, October 9, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, 3700 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA, 30096. For those who are unable to attend the in-person service, it will be streamed at pleasanthillpc.org/memorial and will be available for later viewing on Pleasant Hill’s YouTube channel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Greg’s memory may be made to Shatterproof.org
