Jerrie Elaine Armoney, 76, of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Jerrie was born in Pineville, Louisiana, on August 6, 1946.  She was preceded in death by her parents: Jeff and Lillie Voorhies;  siblings:  O.B. Ryland, Talmage Voorhies, Erby Voorhies, Bonnie Voorhies, Ronnie Voorhies, Jeff “Booster” Voorhies, Abner Voorhies, Claude Robbins, David Robbins, Nadine Duschene, Louise Voorhies, Elaine Hogan, Eloise Moody, Audrey Love, Patsy Pennington, and Beatrice Stevens.

Visitation services for Mrs. Jerrie Elaine Armoney will be held Thursday, October 6 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Friday, October 7 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 7, 2022, in the Chapel of Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs with Rev. Andy Stafford officiating.  Graveside services will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, in the Garden of Faith, located behind Seale Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Ronald Wayne Armoney; son: Brian (Rebecca) Armoney, of Baton Rouge, daughter: Rhonda (Neil) Whitam, of Walker, and sister Shirley Gunter, of Alexandria.  Also left to cherish her memory are five grandchildren:  Joshua Armoney, Michaela Armoney, Joseph Armoney, Abigail Whitam, and Hayden Whitam; and a host of nieces and nephews who lovingly thought of her as a second mom.

Jerrie made the move from Pineville to Baton Rouge as a young lady to pursue her career in bookkeeping at Ready Portion Meats.  Jerrie was later employed as an accountant and did payroll at Bancroft Paper Company, Charter Paper Company, Ralph & Kacoo’s and Formosa Plastics.

After retirement, she became an avid napper, who loved her couch and TV as much as her family. Jerrie loved BIG!  She enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, casino runs, playing Pokeno, and special meals with friends.  She loved family traditions and worked diligently to create fond memories especially throughout the holidays.  Everyone was always welcomed, loved, and greeted in her home.  She will be missed tremendously by those who have enjoyed her home especially during the Christmas season.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Joshua Armoney, Joseph Armoney, Hayden Whitam, Greg Joyner, Terry Ginn, and Dereck Morales.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory.

The sun is not a bright, the sky is not as blue, that’s what happens when I lose a friend like you. On a clear night, look up at the heavens and find the brightest star, that is Jerrie, smiling down on everyone she loves. I will miss her smiling face, her ever present wit, her heartfelt hugs, and her homemade spaghetti and meatballs. I rejoice in the fact that I’ll see her again when it’s my turn to walk through that lonesome valley. RIP my dear friend.

My prayers are with you all. Mrs Jerrie and Mr Ronald will always hold a special place in my heart. Hold tight to your memories and know she is in a much better place than we. Mr Ronald, Brian, and Rhonda – I love you and will keep you in my prayers in the days and weeks to come.

Words seem so feeble in moments such as these. Life is so precious, and death is always such a thief. The unimaginable depth of your pain is something many cannot comprehend, but together we stand with you in the darkness. Love is a bond that death can never part. While she may be gone from your arms, her amazing memories will be forever in your hearts.

    Love Always,
    Gigi and Amanda

I will always remember our most memorable times we spent together on the Board of Directors at SAIF federal credit Union and the wonderful times with Mrs. Jerrie and Mr. Ronald’s friendship. She will be truly missed, but always remembered. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, GOD loved her better then us. May GOD continue to bless and keep you covered Mr. Ronald..
