Marolyn Humphrey Crochet, passed away December 20, 2022 at the age of 79. She was a native of St. Helena Parish, a resident of Baton Rouge most of her adult life, before moving to Denham Springs to live her sister Marie. She was the daughter of Samuel Jahue and Claudia Alford Humphrey.
Survivors include her brother, Clark “Bit” Humphrey of Baton Rouge, sister-in-law Kathy Humphrey (Buddy), of Denham Springs; and her grandchildren, Olivia Whittington, Samuel Whittington, and Alexis Dove (Jason).
Marolyn was preceded in death by her much loved and missed son, Randal Craig Whittington, brothers Dewey, Sam Jr., and Morris “Buddy” Humphrey and sisters, Myrtle LaGroue (Albert), Velma Grace Carpenter (Bob) and Marie Gorham.
Many nieces and nephews are left to cherish her memory, especially Rhonda and Lisa, who were by her side in the final days. After rebuilding from the 2016 flood, Marie and Marolyn were joined by their brother, Bit and the enjoyed each other and many new memories were made, with much reminiscing of their younger days, family and old friends.
Graveside service will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge, Wednesday, December 28, at 2 PM with Seale Funeral Home in charge of services. Great-great nephews will serve as pallbearers, Clark, Devin, Thor, Owen, Eyon, and Dylan. Honorary pallbearers are Brantley, Hayden, and Tyler.
