Henry “Rudolph” Craig, age 78, a resident of Walker, LA peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Rudolph was born on August 12, 1944 to Henry “Bea” and Louvinia Craig. Rudolph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
He proudly served his country as a communication control operator in the Vietnam war as a part of the United States Army. Rudolph also dedicated 35 years of his life to the students and faculty of Walker High School. As a teacher and assistant principal, he treasured the relationships he formed with his friends, students, and fellow educators.
Visitation will be held at Walker High School in the Glenn Ellis gym on Burgess Ave. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. Visitation on Wednesday will resume at Lighthouse Pentecostal church from 9:00am to 11:00am. Rev. Jerry Arnold and Rev. Mike Craig will conduct the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Rudolph is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Dunn Craig, one daughter, Christy C. Dwyer and husband Donovan; two sons, Terry Craig; Shelby Craig and wife Tara; sisters, Maxcine Lancaster; Verna Lang and husband Lester; Linda Gallman and husband Johnny; brother, JL Craig and wife Judy; 9 grandchildren , 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Bea Craig and Louvinia G. Craig; son, Henry Rudolph Craig, Jr. Pallbearers will be Mason Dwyer, Jaden Dwyer, Skyler Dwyer, Donovan Dwyer, JL Craig, and Chris Craig. Honorary pallbearers will be John Dunn, Paul Dunn, Brice Craig, and Jimmy Craig.

Kim, i am so sorry for you and your families loss. Mr. Craig was more than our Teacher & Principal, he was more of a Father figure and I respected him for that quality. He was so open minded and caring, and I wished there had been more men like Mr. Craig throughout my life. He always tried to give the kids the benefit of the doubt and was so patient. Whenever I was being the, “stubborn & sassy mouth” Jacki Bernhardt, I usually was, he always tried to listen then act. He always used patience & understanding with the more than rebellious kids, and I loved that about him. My heart goes out to you and your wonderful family. Mr. Craig I have known you most of my life. We lived in Walker near each other. You were my Sunday school teacher, at Shady Bower Church and then my school teacher at Walker High School. I had a lot of RESPECT for you and your family. You will be truly missed. My PRAYERS go out to your family.

Mr. Craig was one of my favorite teachers. He always told me, “Young lady, you can be anyone you want to be, but if you call me Rudolph again, you will be the queen of detention.” I was always his “queen of detention”. Fly high Mr. Craig!
