Words there are no words. He was a great young man and he had so much love to give. My family knew him from the time he was in high school my girls Lettie and Dee went to school together. It’s hard to lose two young men Dale Sterling and John so close together. They were very close friends and it was like heaven having two boys around a lot just having fun with our family. He will be missed very much. Life changes too fast for some of us to be able to really handle it. God bless you and his son which I know for sure is a fine young man. Keep the Lord Jesus close and he will keep you. God bless you Beverly Tate and family

Uncle John. That is how I addressed John. Although we were of no blood relation, I endearingly called him my uncle. In return he called me nephew. I learned so much from him although he refused to take credit. Whether it was career advice, facing adversity, or just life in general, John was always the voice of reason. In all the years I knew John I never saw him without a huge smile. His smile is almost impossible to replicate because like him, it was larger than life. In a world where people may be afraid to stand by their beliefs, John was never afraid to share his love for Christ. Often times he would say to me, or I would hear him say, “I’m saying this because the Lord put this on my heart and I need to hear it myself.” I have seen him so many times do things for others that he refused to take credit.

Larger than life is a phrase used too often, but John exemplified this. I will live the rest of my life trying to live up to the example John set for me. I love you Uncle John.

To the family, my family prays for your peace. Please rest assured that John lived a life worth living. I know he now walks with his Heavenly Father.

Until we meet agin my friend…

Please accept my deepest condolences. I had the privilege of having John my team for a number of years. As great of a manager as he was I know all of you know he was even a better man. I always admired his work ethic and willingness to help others no matter the ask. The time I got to spend with John will always be cherished and I cannot express just how many life lessons I learned from John. John was always quick to make you laugh and challenge a person to push themselves to excel all in the same conversation. I am a better person for knowing him and he will be deeply missed.

To John’s family – I will miss John greatly. He assisted me a number of times as I conducted investigations at AT&T. I have always appreciated both his professionalism and his humor.

I cannot express enough how broken hearted we are. Since learning of John’s passing, Jr & I have recollected so many funny stories about this man. We didn’t see him often but I am so thankful he & Jr had lunch several months ago so he could show off his truck. No doubt, we will continue to have wonderful memories about John. Starting all the way back to when he turned 19 & started at ERS. But for now…go rest high upon that mountain & boast your beautiful wings. Until we meet again John…
    Much love

I cannot believe this is happening. I’m so glad I got to visit with John a little recently. Whenever we did get to see each other, he always made me smile and/or laugh. I’ll miss his big burly hugs.

I love you John, and I know you’re going to be greatly missed. Give all those in heaven my love…and be good for Jesus!…until we meet again.
