Sayre, Robert

June 5, 1933 – March 17, 2023

Robert Kenna Sayre (Dear, Daddy, Papa, Bro. Bob) went to be with his Lord, Friday March 17, 2023. He and “my little wife” Elaine were married for 70 years and were blessed with 7 children (2 who died in infancy, Patricia Diane & Rita Dawn.) He was preceded in death by his youngest son John Mark in 2018 and 1 day before, by his daughter “Patsy”  whose wish was to have her Daddy join her.

Bob wasn’t raised in a Christian home, but he determined to raise his family to serve the Lord.  He laid hands on his children in prayer nightly, and all 5 of the children and their spouses were in full time ministry:  Karen & Harold Haynes, Patricia Jane and Nathan Hyman, Bob & Cindy Sayre, Rebecca & Val Taylor, John Mark and Julie Sayre.  He was the patriarch to 4 generations including:  17 Grandchildren, 40 Great Grands, and 3 Great, Great Grands.  He also has a niece Lora Blackhurst and nephew Darrell Sayre.

Bob worked as a tree trimmer, worked 19 years at Kaiser Aluminum, and pastored 3 churches before God called them to Faith Farm Ministries as a counselor to hurting men.  After retirement, he ministered weekly to the men at the Livingston Parish Prison, and he and his little wife went to Harvest Manor and Golden Age to encourage and pray for the residents weekly.

His favorite past times were singing and playing his guitar with his family, and riding his bicycle which he did until last December.

A Graveside Service will be held at Gateway Gardens Memorial Park on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 2pm. Visitation will be held at Life Church, 9036 Florida Blvd. Walker, LA , from 5pm until Celebration of Life Service at 6:30pm. Condolences may be offered at www.sealefuneral.com

Our lives are richer for having known and worked alongside Bob and Elaine Sayre at Faith Farm Ministries. I know there were many souls saved through his ministry, because no one left his office without having an opportunity to receive Christ. He was well loved by the men and staff. We were so sorry to hear about Patsy’s home going as well.
Our prayers are with the family.
    We love you all.

Bro Bob was a mighty warrior in that prison. He was a force to be reckoned with in the spirit realm. This world needs more like him!
