William “Sonny” Perry Blakey, born on October 14, 1949, in Albany, GA and residing in Denham Springs, LA peacefully passed away on April 4, 2023 due to squamous cell carcinoma. He had a deep love for his children, an amazing connection to animals, loved fishing, was an avid reader and watcher of old westerns. He was the best story-teller you could ever meet, making even the simplest story dramatic, and sometimes unbelievable. Sonny found his passion for motorcycles at the young age of 14 which led to his career as a motorcycle mechanic. His need for speed did not end there, he went on to dominate in track racing throughout the South, mostly on bikes he built himself. Sonny is survived by his children; Laurie Martin, Amie Stanberry (Danny), Jessica Burns, Jennifer Pineirovigo (Angel), Sarah Stevens (Benjamin), Ivie Gremillion (Kevin), and Jacob Blakey (Shannon). 17 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Brothers; David Blakey and Darrell Blakey. Sister; Catherine Blakey Odom-Weeks and many nieces and nephews. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents,  Maudelle (McDaniel) Blakey and Clyde Blakey. Brother; Glenn Blakey. Sister; Debra Hutto. Son-in-law; John Martin.
