In the mid 1960s, Coach Huval could not only explain new tricks on trampoline, but also demonstrate them. A great coach.

Butch gave of himself to the skeet community in many ways. What a kind, wonderful, giving man. I feel very fortunate to have known him. Mary and I send out condolences to Pat and family.

Coach Huval was a not only a coach but a mentor in the lives of Jesuit High School gymnasts. At the time I could not appreciate how he sacrificed his time and resources to allow us to travel to meets in Louisiana and beyond. Rest in peace Coach.

Good by my friend and fellow shooter. Hope to see you again on station 3 for another shoot off and then in the club house for a cold one together. You were an inspiration to all who knew you. God needs a good referee.

My condolence to the Huval family. I remember Butch from shooting with him at South La. Gun Club. He also did stock work for me on a few of my shotguns. I always enjoyed his company and expertise, as well as his sense of humor. The world is a sadder place.

Butch, you will always be remembered for who you were both on the field and off. For those of us lucky enough to know him, we know that he was a Louisiana Skeet Shooting icon. Both your shooting scores and your impact on the lives of everyone you touched will forever be memorialized. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

Coach Huval was a good man. He was warm and friendly and had a great sense of humor- and was so grounded. He taught me and others lucky enough to have been coached by him the value of planning, hard work, and reflecting with mindfulness – with purpose. He taught us to seek our dreams and to celebrate progress made along the way… He taught us to treasure our friendships, and our mentors… to take the best of those experiences and embrace them for a lifetime – and to share those lessons with others along the way. He will be missed – but well remembered.
