A resident of Port Hudson, Louisiana, Betty Arceneaux Hodge was a gentle, caring and loving lady that adored children and her animals. She was born on September 29, 1953 to E.J. and Aletha Arceneaux. Betty went to be with our Lord peacefully on May 30, 2023 at The Lodge at Lane in Zachary, La.
Service arrangements are as follows: Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Saturday, June 3, 2023, Visitation from 2-4 pm followed by Funeral Service at 4 pm..
She is survived by 2 daughters, Aletha and Matthew Gautreaux, Jo Anna and Troy McGehee; 2 brothers, Jimmy and Renee Arceneaux, Johnny and Virginia Arceneaux, 1 sister, JoAnn Allemond; 4 grandchildren, Britain Scott ,Jameson Scott, Raegan McGehee, Lillian McGehee; Nieces and nephews, Chris Arceneaux, Shannon Arceneaux, Joe Arceneaux, Janice Arceneaux Lansing, Quinley Arceneaux, Johnette, Eddie and William Covington, Jennifer and Justin Gremillion, E.J., Nancy, Matthew and Virginia Anne Arceneaux, Cayce Allemond, Ashley, Aaron, Benton and Jude Brown, Matthew, Danielle, Jackson, Abby, Ben and Ella Allemond.
She is proceeded in death by her father, E. J. Arceneaux, mother, Aletha Benton Arceneaux, sister, Janice Arceneaux and 3 grandchildren, Layna, Easton and Camden McGehee.
Betty was a graduate of Jackson High School and Southeastern State University with a BS in Social Work. She retired from Southern University where she served as an employee insurance administrator.
Betty loved all animals, especially her companion cats Sarah and George. She touched the lives of many children through the years as she worked at the First Baptist Church of St. Francisville in the nursery and taught Mission Friends and also in her in-home day care. Betty was a very caring and giving person and known for helping those in need.
The family would like to express their great appreciation to the staff of The Lodge at Lane in Zachary for the professional and nurturing care given to Betty while a resident with them and also to Hospice of Baton Rouge.
