Ernest Mitchell Cedotal Jr., born January 8 1930, Died June 24, 2023 at the age of 93. He was born in White Castle, La. He was a native of Baker, La, and a resident of Denham Springs, La. He was a father, grandfather, great – grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle, and he was loved by all that knew him. He retired with 20 years of service in the US Armed Forces: US Airforce, Coast Guard, and Army National Guard. On October 1st 1990 he retired with 28 years of service with Baton Rouge City Police. He was an avid book reader. Reading was part of his daily routine.
Ernest was survived by his son, Eddie Lynn Cedotal Sr, daughter Joni Cedotal Johnson, and son in law Darren Lee Johnson. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great – great grandchildren. Three sisters: Millie Peavy, Genny Fullington (Gordon), and Alice Duhe (John). Sister-in-law: Lucille Cedotal. Nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He is proceeded in death by his father: Ernest Mitchell Cedotal, Sr., mother: Lelia Marie Folse Cedotal, grandfather’s: Joseph Zephrine Cedotal and Alberie Folse, Grandmother’s: Sarah Ophelia Scott and Caliste M. Grainer. Sons: Charley Mitchell Cedotal Sr., Ernest Mitchell Cedotal III, Emerson Jay Cedotal Sr., Elroy Lee Cedotal, Emery Kenneth Cedotal. Daughter: Emerald Kelly Cedotal. Brothers: Hayward Cedotal, Theodore J. Cedotal Sr., and Henry Cedotal. Sisters: Anna Mae Wicker, Mary Bourgeois, Betty Addison; brother-in-laws, Frank Wicker, Leroy Peavy, Eddie Bourgeois and Don Addison. Sister-in-law: June Cedotal. Services will be grave side Friday June 30, 2023 at 10am at Louisiana National Cemetery 303 W Mt Pleasant Zachary Rd., Zachary, La 70791. Pallbearers: Darren Johnson, Blake Hambrick, Shalon Cedotal, Mitch Cedotal, Scott Cedotal, Stephen Elsenrath and Toby Vicknair. Condolences may be offered at www.sealefuneral.com

    Gone but not forgotten. I loved spending time just talking at the house. He was a good man, a man’s man. Prayers and Blessings to the family.
