JoAnn Carpenter Forbes

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7. JoAnn Carpenter Forbes passed away on July 26, 2023, at the age of 86 years old at Central Guest House. She was born on November 9, 1936, in Greenville, Mississippi and was a long-time resident of Central, Louisiana. She was a retired bus driver for East Baton Rouge Parish Schools. Upon retiring she enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe as a travel agent with her husband of 63 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Forbes; and her parents Rev. James “Jimmy” and Dorothy Colice Stanley Carpenter. She is survived by her son, Kendall Forbes (Deb); her daughter Sharon Forbes; five grandchildren Chase Forbes (Jennie), Anna Schech (Gary), Caroline Moore (Ashby), Steven Forbes (Emily Grace), and Sayer Forbes (Alyssa); six great-grandchildren Tristan and Austen Forbes, Knox and Laila Jude Forbes, and CoCo and Gigi Forbes; and her brother Stan Carpenter (Pat); along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 9am-11am at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, La, followed by the funeral service at 11am. The burial will be held immediately after at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chase Forbes, Steven Forbes, Sayer Forbes, Ashby Moore, Tracy Carpenter-Schexnaydre and Ava LaCrosse. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Carpenter, Gary Schech and Andrew Schexnaydre.
