2023ObituariesLemmie Leon Dickerson, Sr.

August 4, 2023by SealeUser1

August 2nd, under the big, bright, and spectacular Full Moon, our father, Lemmie Leon Dickerson Sr. took his last breath, and I do not think that was a coincidence. He lived big, loved large, and if you had the opportunity to enjoy one of his home cooked meals or be in the presence of his quick wit and charm, you are among the lucky. It has not been easy these last few months but, there is a lifetime of memories that we will hold on to forever. He loved cooking, yard work, animals, dancing, and a good bargain. He also was a master story teller and could embarrass you and make you laugh, often at the same time. Most of all he loved his family and friends and was loyal to a fault. I think he would also like us to tell you he was voted best looking in 8th AND 12th grade. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed.

There will be a private family service but we encourage you to raise a glass in his honor and think of your favorite memory with a smile. The Sturgeon moon represents strength, generosity, and kindness. That about sums it up. Fly high Big Lem. We love you to that big old Sturgeon Moon and back.1938-2023.

Mr. Dickerson, my Daddy loved you a lot. Y’all were quite the baldheaded duo. I have many fond memories since childhood with your family. Please watch over my daddy during this extremely difficult time. Kristin and Lil’ Lemmie, I love y’all.
Peace be with all of you,
    Heidi
