What do I miss about Dale? Everything. He was a remarkable man. He had a great sense of humor. My earliest recollection of Dale dates to the mid 1970’s when his barbershop and my car wash shared a common boundary. I found it necessary to dig a trench (by hand) to lay pipe between our businesses. After I finished my digging, he stepped out of his shop, looked over my trench, looked at me and said with a poker face: “Richard, your ditch is on my property. I’m sorry but you’ll have to move it.” I was crushed! He saw how deflated I was and not wishing to prolong my agony (at least too much longer) he flashed a great big ole smile and said, in that wonderful Mamou accent, “I’m just kidding; I don’t know where the property line is, but it doesn’t matter anyhow.” Dale had so many friends and I was glad to be one. I shed a tear when I learned of his passing.

I have no doubt Dale is already with friends and loved ones on the other side. They are probably laughing and swapping stories.
I love you Dale, and so do a host of other people. Rest in peace, Buddy, until we meet again.

I haven’t seen Mr Dale in years. I remember being young and my mom bringing me to get my haircut! I thought he was funny and I was so memorized by his accent. He was a kind man and I am very sorry your loss. May God bless all of you during this difficult time.

Dale was my barber and friend for close to 40 years. His warm personality always made me feel welcome. And as we were both from the same area his accent made me feel at home. I will miss him deeply.

Chad and Eric, I had a big spot in my heart for your Dad. I always had a great time sitting in his chair and talking with him. I loved his accent so much. I always told him to make me look like Chad as your senior pic was on the counter and I looked up to you a lot. He will be missed for sure.

He was still laughing and cutting up, even as they were taking him to surgery! A trooper to the end! He’s leaving us with a hole in our lives!
