Cheryl “Katy” Mitchell, of Maurepas, Louisiana, died unexpectedly on August 12, 2023. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death. Katy was born on December 31,1955, in Texas City, Texas, but lived in the Baton Rouge area for most of her life. Everyone who knew Katy knew how good-humored she was. Katy was full of life and loved to talk, traits that were obvious to all after even just a single meeting with her. She never met a stranger, and she loved to laugh. Katy is survived by her husband, Michael Mitchell, children, Michael Bocz, Michelle Goudeau, Matthew Bocz, stepsons, Vance and Courtney Mitchell, and an abundance of grandchildren and friends. We will miss Katy more than words can say. Katy was predeceased by her parents, Johnny and Rose Smith, siblings, Emily and Raymond Smith, and son, Mitchell Bocz. Visitation will be held at 9am, and service to begin at 11am on August 18, 2023 at Seale Funeral Home 1720 S. Range Ave. Denham Springs, LA 70726.
