Jonna Michelle Underwood Doucet age 57, died peacefully on October 3, 2023, in Houston, Texas with her family by her side. “Missy”, as she was affectionately known, was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on November 28, 1965. Michelle spent her childhood in Mobile, Alabama with her mother Maxine, and sisters Ashley and Amberly; during her teens, she moved to Watson, Louisiana to live with her father Scott Underwood and bonus mom, Nancy. In her high school years, Michelle loved participating in the choir at W. P. Davidson High School in Mobile. She sang with the voice of an angel and never stopped serenading the people she loved. She graduated from Live Oak High School in 1985. Michelle attended Southeastern Louisiana University, where she met Todd Billiot. They married in 1988. Their son Joseph D. Billiot was born in 1989. Michelle would also help raise her younger sister Amberly after their mother passed in 1998. After a subsequent divorce, Michelle lived independently in Baton Rouge and then Lafayette, working as a legal secretary. She married Delton Dwayne (Duane) Doucet in 2013 and moved with him to Lake Charles, Louisiana. They enjoyed life on the outskirts of town with their fur babies, which consisted of four Maltese dogs known as “The Girls”. Michelle loved Louisiana, adopting many facets of cajun culture during her time in Watson, Lafayette, and Lake Charles. She loved cooking on gameday and rooting for the LSU Tigers with her family. She made the best crawfish étouffée and potato salad you ever tasted. Later in life, she became an avid writer and enjoyed being part of an online writing group; her passion was writing as Elli of the Woods, an elf character who loved being in the forest. Her writing allowed her to make friends all over the world. She was especially fond of her friend Soren Nielsen (and family) from Denmark, with whom she often wrote.
She was predeceased by her mother, Maxine Sewell Denham and her baby sister Amberly Denham Harvey. She is survived by her parents William Scott Underwood, Jr. and Nancy; husband Duane; her son Joseph and wife Catherine, and her two grandchildren Henry and Amelia; her step-children Brittany (Cody) Willette, Jordan (Caleb) Houssong, Bud (Danielle) Doucet, and Delton (Kristen) Doucet, and their thirteen grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Ashley Denham Harrison (Jeffery); her nieces Lily, Brittney, Paighton, and Savannah and nephews Michael and Bradlea-Scott. Family was the most important thing in the world to her; she loved being Mimi to her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Seale Funeral Home of Denham Springs on November 4, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Missy was special to me since she was a small and exuberant child. It hurts my heart in a very deep way to know that she is gone.
Unfortunately, my own health prevents my being able to be there tomorrow morning. However, it is my hope. I will be able to be there soon. She remains in my heart and my prayers.

OMG! I am so sorry to hear this. I wrote in the same game as she did. Her character fluttered all over my Kingdom. I know she loved the LSU Tigers and together we cheered them on via Facebook. I am so sorry for your loss.
