Jimmie Dennis Tarver Sr. , 76, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away on October 23rd , 2023 peacefully in his sleep surrounded by beloved family members. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on October 28th , 2023 at Seale Funeral Home on South Range Avenue in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, October 27th , 2023 and Saturday, October 28th from 10am to 12pm with service at 12 PM at Seale Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Felder Cemetery at Gray’s Creek Baptist Church following the chapel service. Jimmie Dennis Tarver Sr. was born in Turkey Creek, Louisiana on February 17th,1947. Jimmie worked as an independent painting contractor for more than 50 years. He was intentional with his trade and employed several family members over the years passing on his extensive knowledge. He was a fan of Louisiana State University athletics, loved fishing, music, singing, playing guitar, watching old westerns, and spending time with his friends and family. Jimmie participated in several country bands over the years, instilling a love of music in his children as well. Jimmie is survived by his wife Naomi Tarver, brothers Johnny Wagner (Susan), Richard Wagner; his children Jimmie Tarver Jr. (Cindy), Cheryl Cherry, Terrie Sutton (Michael), Theresa Tarver, Diana Lindsey (Bryan), Tammy Tarver, Sandra Cherry (Tommie), Robert Cranston (Chelsea); his grandchildren Tristan Tarver, Gregory D’Elia (Dawn), Christopher Reynolds, Jimmie Scott, Braxton Cherry (Heather), John Cherry (Kiera), Destiny Hickman, Frank Hickman (Sarai), Steven Hickman, Jimmie Watkins (Brianna), Mallory Watkins, Stephanie Mamay, Bryson Lindsey, John Tarver, Tommie Cherry III (Valerie), Joanna Cherry, Cali McFee; his numerous great grandchildren plus the rest of his relatives and friends. Jimmie is preceded in death by his wife, Eola Tarver; his son John Tarver; his father, William “Red” Tarver and mother,- Della Wagner; his siblings Teresa Wagner, Barbara Dubroc, Clay Wagner, Gordon Tarver, Margie Tarver, Nell Tarver; his maternal grandparents Suzie and Delmus “Kid” Hamm, along with many other relatives. You may send flowers; however, in lieu of the flowers the family wishes for contributions to the American Heart Association in Jimmie Tarver’s name.
