Rona Jean Kinchen (Brown), of Denham Springs, passed away on October 23, 2023 at her home. She had been battling health issues related to lung and brain cancer. Rona was born on December 29, 1955 in Shreveport, La., the eldest of 5 children. Rona was an incredibly passionate and talented individual, and she loved engaging in her numerous hobbies. Her skills ranged from quilting and painting to cake decorating. Additionally, Rona was passionate about her animals, raising exotic birds over the years. Above all, she was devoted to her faith and family. Rona is survived by her husband of 29 years, Earl Wayne Kinchen; her daughter, Angela Hebron Salard (Lonnie); her step children, Kimberly Barker (Rusty) and Kevin Kinchen (Debbie); her grandchildren, Cole Salard and Lauren Salard; her stepmother, Dortha Sue Brown; her siblings, David Brown (Ada), Bobby Brown, and Becky Mitchell (Robert); her step siblings, Kevin Vernor (Denise) and Keith Vernor (Maria); and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews that she loved greatly. Rona was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Brown; father, Len E. Brown; sister, Dana Brown; and sister-in-law, Ashley Brown. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM (family) to 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Friday, October 27, 2023 with funeral service at 12:00 PM officiated by Gene White at Seale Funeral Home on South Range Avenue in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The family invites those who wish to express their condolences or other wishes to do so at the service.
