My condolences goes out to the family. I was David’s administrative assistant at DEQ for many years until his retirement. He was a great boss, always had a great attitude and sense of humor. After David retired he always stayed in touch. Each year I received a Christmas card with pictures of the family; he will be missed.

I went to high school with David and ran track with him. He always had a smile on his face and always jovial. Such a kind person is hard for this world to loseā€¦.may he rest in eternal peace and his family have some consolation with the memories of such a fine man.

David Hughes was one of the kindest men I have ever known . His deep sincere love for his daughters, granddaughters and wife showed in every part of his life .His face would light up when we were lucky enough to meet and talk usually at Walmart.
He was a gentleman to be respected by all who knew him . He was a loyal loving friend I was blessed to have in my life .
He loved God and His Church and was always willing to stop and tell you about his faith . He loved working with the church groups at FBCDS
Thank you for always having a few minutes to visit when we ran into each other around Denham Springs Rest in Peace dear friend , we will see you again one day in heaven .
