James Evans Mitchell, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Summerfield Assisted Living in Tangipahoa Parish. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a resident of Covington, Louisiana. James was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his son Jason Mitchell, grandchild Zoie Mitchell, and brother Donald Mitchell. James is preceded in death by his wife Darlyn Ann Mitchell, father Charles Mitchell, and mother Virginia Mitchell.

I have known Jim most f my life. He was bright and had a quick sense of humor. He and Dolly were a joy to be with. They shall be dearly missed. 🙏
