2024ObituariesDonna Christine Bell

January 30, 2024by SealeUser9

Donna Bell, 59, a lifelong resident of Denham Springs, LA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024, in her home. She was born in Port Sulphur, LA, on March 17, 1964, to the late Don F. Bell, Sr. and Teressa Fay Bell. At the age of 15 in 1979, tragedy struck and Donna was involved in a car accident that left her a quadriplegic and unable to move her body from the neck down. What she lost, she gained with the God-given talent of painting, drawing, and crocheting without the use of her hands, but with her mouth. Her faith in God and the love she had for her family was unwavering. Her positivity rooted in faith was contagious and left a mark on anyone she met. She was the glue that held the family together, could fix anyone’s problem, and was always telling a funny joke.

Donna will be missed deeply and is loved by everyone who has met her. She is survived by sisters Glenda Gautreaux (Ed) and Kay Scott (Michael); brothers Don Bell, Jr. and Hank Bell (Jennifer); nieces Christie Dorsa (Russ), Melanie Gautreaux, Trisha Grass (Bill), and Jennifer Aucoin (Neal); great nieces and nephews Faith and Lauren Dorsa, Owen and Myles Babin, and Kaylee, Emilee, and Lawson Aucoin; and numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by father Don F. Bell, Sr. and other family members who have gone before us. We know she ran into the arms of Jesus, our beloved Papa, and is dancing and rejoicing within her healed heavenly body! We love you and miss you always. It’s not goodbye; it’s see you later.

I still cannot process that this is real. Ma & I tried to capture your spirit writing this obituary the best we could, but we know it’s impossible. You were faced with so many challenges and obstacles, faced them head on and trusted in Gods plan FULLY with a smile, knowing he would never lead you wrong. So positive. So beautiful! And you truly cared about every single person in your life. I love you so much and miss you already! Please tell papa I love him and to visit me every once in a while in my dreams..both of you… but please guide, comfort, and watch over Mawmaw and memaw for me. I know as soon as your entered those gates, you ran, you danced, and you heard “Well done, my faithful servant.” You are healed by the blood of Jesus!!!! Your testimony alone could make anyone a believer, and it did!! I LOVE YOU MORE! Every time I listen to Bob Seger, Fleetwood Mac, and Led Zepplin, I hope you’re right there with singing along with me. Booful Brown and I love you so much and cannot wait to see you again one day. 💓
