Lucille Deevon Holwager
An honored mother, beloved grandmother, loving sister, and treasured friend, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was 71, and had been a resident of Denham Springs, LA for 20 years. She was a giver, even when she had nothing physical to give, she would give her time. Anyone that needed help, she was there. She had so much love and patience when she took care of her brother and son as they fought through the last years of their lives. She was known as the “candy lady” in her neighborhood. She didn’t know the word “no” and would do anything for anyone, even if it wasn’t in her plans for the day. Her smile could light up a room. She was always late. We would have to tell her an earlier time for her to be there on time. We always said she would be late to her own funeral. Well, here we are, 2 weeks later!
Lucille is survived by her son Adam Holwager and wife Jennifer, daughter-in-law Margaret Turner, sister (best friend) Prissy Breaux and husband Donnie Breaux, grandchildren Patrick Holwager and wife Ayla, Angelina Holwager, Preston Holwager, Tristan Holwager and wife Melissa, and Lauren Holwager, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, Louis Givens Sr, her mom and step-father Alice and Buddy Monte, her nephew Thomas Givens, her brother Walter Givens, and most recently her son, James Holwager, Jr.
Memorial service will be at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S Range Ave Denham Springs, LA 70726, Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 11-1 PM with service to follow. In Lucy’s honor please wear purple to the memorial.

Lucy or (Polly) when we were close to each other. We met at Cooley ‘s a long time ago. My name to her was Faye, she lived in Redoaks subdivision. I am so sorry for her loss. I didn’t get to see her much when I got married. She was always so sweet.
