Edward “Eddie” Paul Merritt

Beloved Father, Son, Brother, Grandson, and Nephew, Edward “Eddie” Paul Merritt, 32, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at his home in Denham Springs, Louisiana. He was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana on January 26, 1992, to Ernest “Paul” and Tammy (Wroten) Merritt.  Eddie was a proud father to his 2-year-old son, Roman, and he loved telling stories and showing pictures of his little boy.  He said that being a father was the best thing in his life. Aside from being “Daddy”, Eddie loved playing the guitar. He taught himself how to play and Eddie had an ear for music and enjoyed all different styles.  Eddie enjoyed going hunting when he could but would always find the time for fishing.  It did not matter if he was at a river, lake or a pond in the backyard Eddie loved to have a fishing pole in his hand.  He was also a gamer who loved the excitement of a good game. Eddie is survived by his son, Roman Merritt; parents, Ernest “Paul” and Tammy Merritt; brother, Tristan Merritt; grandfather, Alvin Wroten Jr; uncles and aunts, Ray (Laura) Wroten, Lee (MeLissa) Wroten and cousin, Hunter Wroten.  He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ernest “Duke” Merritt and maternal grandmother, Marie Wroten. Pallbearers will be his family Paul Merritt (father), Tristan Merritt (brother), Hunter Wroten (cousin) as well as friends, Jamie Lambert, Wayne Stanley, and TJ Pitts. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 11am until services 1pm.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, Louisiana.

We all seem to think time will never stop for us and we have the time to do the things we delay doing! I wish we would have made those fishing trips and hang out to have the conversations and those great times spent together! You will be missed My Friend!
