Laurie Ann Burnett Deaton, 54, passed on March 24, 2024. She was born in Bosier City, Louisiana on April 22, 1969. She received a Bachelor of Science in nursing and was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years. Laurie loved her family and was always full of energy. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, hunting, and traveling.
She is survived by her mother Julia Gayle McCallister, son Kyle Blake Turner, grandchildren Landon Turner, Kaley Turner, and Makenzye Turner, sister-in-law Darla Burnett, brothers Doug Burnett and Todd Burnett, and nephews Cooper Burnett and Reece Burnett.
She is preceded in death by her father, Larry I. Burnett.
A special thanks to Baton Rouge Hospice for their care. There will be a celebration of life held at Historic Fire Station (200 E. Mississippi St., Ruston, LA) on April 20, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The celebration ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm.

Laurie was always so fun. We were best friends in high school. I am so sorry she is gone. Praying for peace and comfort for the family.
