Richard Jewell Beattie, Jr., 56, passed on March 28, 2024 at his home in St. Francisville. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on October 8th, 1967 and worked as a pipefitter and has been retired since 2007. He was a member of Hells Angels and enjoyed playing with his dogs, Monster and Susie, and spending time with his daughters and grandkids.

He is survived by his mother Eleanor DeLaughter Beattie, daughters Rachel Beattie and Dicksie Braud (Dylan Braud), grandchildren Dameon Smith, Jewell Guillory, Adalyn Miller, Harper Miller, Sadie-Kate Miller, and Beau Braud, sisters Dicksie Beattie Ramey, Linda Beattie May, nieces Rana Hobgood, Amanda Donaldson, Ashton Abbott, nephews Jacob Beattie and Jordan Coleman, and family friend Calvin Guillory.

He is preceded in death by his son Richard Jewell Beattie III, father Richard Jewell Beattie Sr., grandparents Ernestine and Henry Beattie, and grandparents James and Bertha DeLaughter.

Pallbearers are Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, David Allen Coe, and Kurt Cobain.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Children’s Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Wednesday, April 3rd from 12 pm to 2pm with a service starting at 2pm. At the request of the family, please wear casual attire or your favorite band shirt.

    You were a great neighbor and a valiant watchman, RB. I wish we’d had more time to visit bc your stories were some of the best I’ve ever heard. Rest now with no pain, peace be with you for all time.
