Ricky Blaine Denova, 64, of Walker, LA, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024. He was an employee of Matt Bowers CDJR and dedicated over 15 years at Salsbury Dodge City. His greatest memories and favorite past times were with his dad, Sam, racing and riding dirt bikes. Of all, he enjoyed time with his family.
Ricky is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mimi Denova; daughters, Kelsey Denova, Kristie Thornhill, and Lacey Alexander; son, Derek Hendry; grandchildren, Addison Mattingly, Harli Mattingly, and Christopher “Bubby” Mattingly Jr.; sisters, Tonya Laiche and Sheila Denova; brothers, Sal Denova, Terry Denova, and Gregory Denova; nieces, Tisha Denova, Keile Denova, Kayla Denova, Shanna Denova, Jaida Denova, and Mandy Monica; nephews, Sal Denova, Sammy Denova, and Garrett Denova; mother-in-law, Nancy Turnipseed; as well as numerous friends, co-workers and other family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Winnie Denova; uncle, Marion Denova; and father-in-law, Richard Turnipseed.
Ricky devoted 35 years of his life to the love of his life, Mimi. They enjoyed their adventurous life together. His friends and work family referred to him as a mentor and loyal friend…when he wasn’t talking smack. His daughter says, “he was deeply involved in every aspect of my life. His actions showed his love more than any words could ever express.”
There will be a graveside celebration of his life Friday, April 12, at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Richard Tsen at Our Lady of the Lake, in Walker.

Oh my brother we were not ready for this. I know you was welcomed home by mama and daddy. I know daddy is having Fats Domino sing to you. I will forever remember the fun we had growing up, but I now have another hole in my heart. Get your rest Ricky Tick until we meet again know I love you to infinity.

Man oh man Ricky I wasn’t done terrorizing you! When were called we gotta go I understand, now who’s house do I drive by and rev my truck at every time I see them outside? You were a brother, friend, and mentor. You were one of my old dudes forever locked in my heart as one of the ones who showed me the tricks of the trade. In my eyes you were the man, the coolest looking old dude ever, Thomas and I said it over and over again if we’re not as cool as Ricky in-our 60s we ain’t nothing! I spent my 20s messing with you being a delinquent, you always messed right back and made it fun. I’m gonna miss you old man!

Mr. Ricky was only in my life for seven short years that we worked together. I will forever remember our time together fondly. Always a class act and eager to assist anyone in need without wanting something in return. That is a rarity these days. One of the good ones are gone, but never forgotten. Mr. Ricky, rest easy my friend. I’ll truly miss you. Curtis
