She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024. She was 88, born Oct. 12, 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Hersey Stafford; her son, Hiram Randall Stafford; her parents, George Melvin and Lula Jones Wesley; her brother, Earl Ray (Bo) Wesley. She is survived by her son John Lodney Stafford and his wife Tanya DelaVergne; her daughter, Allison Stafford Ridge and her husband Philip Ridge; her grandchildren, Brittany Russell and her husband James Russell, Caleb Stafford, Collin Stafford, Merrick Stafford, Dimitri Ashmore, and Madison Ridge; her great-granddaughter, Grace Russell; her sisters, Linda Clark and Judy Owens. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many cousins that she loved dearly. She was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and obtained post graduate hours from Louisiana State University. She worked as an elementary school teacher at Walker Lower Elementary School for 33 years. She was a lifelong member of Mangum Chapel Methodist Church where she played the piano in later years. She loved her family, and we loved her. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Visitation will be at Mangum Chapel Methodist Church on Monday, April 29th from 11 a.m. until service conducted by Rev. Lewis Morris at 1 p.m. She will be buried at Hiram Stafford Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Caleb Stafford, Collin Stafford, Merrick Stafford, Philip Ridge, David Clark, and Steve Stafford Jr. Our family would like to give thanks to Harvest Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation and Life Source Hospice for their care.
