“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.” Psalm 139:1-3
Lynn Irene Haulbrook passed away on January 29, 2025. She was loved by many, especially her beloved husband Billy; daughters: Denice (Steve) Carroll, Lynn (Les) Hinson, and Paulette (Tony) Spedale; grandchildren: Jessica (Josh) Trahan, Amanda (Michael) Rothman, James Spedale, and Will Gardner; great grandchildren: Nevaeh, Devin, Kayden, Brooklyn, Gage, and Vincent; and great-great grandchild: Josiah. She is preceded by her parents: Elmer and Mary Durden, and her sweet dog Baby.
Native of Georgia, Irene would recall many stories of spending days at the homes of her grandparents, aunt and uncle. She moved to Baton Rouge with her husband and three daughters in 1968. Irene spent her years always caring for those around her through being a nurse, serving others, and spending time with family during travels to parks, visiting Yogi Bear, and family gatherings where she loved to cook. She found joy in being with her family and always had a spark in her eye when she was around her grand and great-grandchildren. Irene loved the Lord, and while membering multiple churches over the years, spent recent years attending Walker Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ochsner Clinic, Ochsner Cancer Hospital, and Ochsner Hospital, as well as St. Joseph’s Carpenter House for their wonderful care and support of Irene.
Friends and family are invited to attend services on Monday, February 3, 2025, with viewing at 9am and memorial services at 11am. Services will take place at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Walker Baptist Food Pantry (10696 Florida Blvd, Walker, LA 70785).
