June 6, 1948 – June 28, 2023
A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went to her eternal home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. She was 75 years old. Sheila was very crafty and she loved to sew and crochet, and spending time with her family and friends, especially the grandchildren. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughter, Brandee Pittman and husband Ronnie; two sons, Jamie Humphrey, Jon Devereaux; eight grandchildren, Kriston, Brooke, Jarred and wife Rebecca, Peyton, Coleton, Brennin and fiance` Brady, Bo, Julia; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Terry Witt and wife Cynthia, Roman Witt; sister, Ruby Smith and husband Larry; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, in Denham Springs, on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 3pm until Celebration of Life Service at 5pm, conducted by Rev. Steven Campbell and Rev. Byron Humphrey. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Phillip Devereaux; her sister, Diane Blanton and a grandson, Blayne Seguin. I knew Sheila back in 1970-1980 when I lived in Baton Rouge, LA. I was best friends with her brother, Roman Witt. Through the years, I have lost close contact with both Sheila and Roman, regardless, it saddens me to hear that we lost Sheila; I suspect it was a big loss to her brother, Roman. In the old days, Roman and Sheila were always very close. Roman, please contact me whenever you can and know that I am so sad about Sheila leaving us. Roman, please surround yourself with those who love you and do all you can to remember the “good” days”, my friend.

Aunt Sheila, you always felt like home. No matter how long it had been since the last time we had seen you, you welcomed us all with open arms. I will forever miss your stories and the warmth and love you made sure everyone around you felt. Glad you and Uncle Phil have been reunited but you will forever be loved and missed by the rest of us.

Oh Aunt Sheila I always looked to you for advise when I refused to listen to anyone else. You never led me the wrong way and although I was not ready for you to go, you would be telling me to quit being selfish and let you enjoy your days in Heaven because you are doi bc way better than any of us right now. Say hi to everyone and keep a place for all of us that will mourn and miss you. I love you and everyone is in my prayers.
