Shirley Ann Andrus (Pistorius), age 79 passed away on September 29, 2023 in Hammond, La. She was born on November 18, 1943 in Clinton, IL to Travis Pistorius and Helen Damrey Pistorius. She is remembered for a lifetime of service to her family and others. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Sandra Sheets, Ronald Pistorius, and Gerald Pistorius; husbands Francis Downey, and Jack Andrus; and children Shannon Ann Downey and David Lee Hooker. She is survived by her daughters Natalie Davis and Barbara Tate, as well as her 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at her family’s home on October 28, 2023. As a proud breast cancer survivor, cancer support and resource organizations were close to Shirley’s heart. In lieu of flowers, your charitable donation to a Breast Cancer or other non-profit organization in her memory is welcomed and appreciated.
