1981 – 2024

Amanda Renee Brown Holden, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend passed away May 26, 2024 as a result of a motorcycle accident in Mississippi.  Amanda will always be remembered for her nurturing, fun-loving ways, but especially for the fierce love and bond she had with her husband and children.

Born on April 16, 1981 in Baton Rouge, LA  to Debbie Saizan Hutson and Barry Brown, Amanda lived a life filled with love, laughter, sarcasm, adventure, resilience, fun, and truly caring for others.  She grew up in Jackson, LA, Kirbyville, TX, Central, LA, and Denham Springs, LA.  Throughout her life, Amanda enjoyed riding horses, fishing, playing sports, cooking, riding motorcycles, participating in the Special Olympics with her daughter and, her favorite, enjoying time with family and friends.

She attended Northeast and Central High Schools and went on to work at several different establishments throughout her adulthood, making new friends all along the way.  The job that she was most proud of though was caring for her family.  The titles of wife and mother were her most cherished ones.

Amanda is survived by her husband Roy “Dale” Holden, Jr.; her children Jeremy Abbott (fiancé’ Ma’Kayla Manuel) and Celeste Holden; mother Debbie Saizan Hutson; father Barry Brown (stepmother Paula Brown); father-in-law and mother-in-law Kevin and Patricia Hancock; one step sister and three step nephews; as well as a ton of aunts, uncles, and cousins all of whom loved her dearly.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Moise R. “Bobby” Saizan and Dorothy “Dot” Babin Saizan and her paternal grandparents Lawrence “Big Boy” Brown and Gwendolyn Brown.

A visitation, honoring and remembering Amanda will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 1st with services to follow at 3:00 P.M. at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA.  Immediately after the service, there will be a Celebration of Life at 12941 Devall Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70818.  All are welcome to attend.  In honor of Amanda, please wear jeans and the color purple.  Donations are also being accepted to assist with funeral expenses and her children’s future via a GoFundMe campaign and donations directly to her son, Jeremy.

May we all follow Amanda’s leadership and example in putting family first and finding laughter in even the toughest times. Please sign the online guestbook at www.sealefuneral.com

I’m so sorry for your loss and send my deepest sympathy. Amanda and I attended Jackson High School together she became one of my good friends. We lost contact with each other after she left. I was thinking about her for awhile and decided to Google her and came across this. She was such and amazing beautiful person. I remember her walking the halls of Jackson with her jeans and cowboy boots. I’m in disbelief, fly high beautiful.

We didn’t know Amanda. We witnessed this horrific accident and stopped to render aid. Praying for the Holden, Frazze and Netherland families and for all the family and friends of Amanda and for those who were injured that day.

My fierce bull headed friend, the time spent on the phone everyday raising hell, now the day will seem so empty and quiet. If only I had known Sunday would be our last ride. I hate this loss and I hate that our lives changed literally in the blink of an eye. However, I know without a doubt that you left this earth doing the very thing that gave you peace and happiness. Ride on my friend, know you are loved, light the highway for us for we shall catch up to you some day. 💜✌🏼
