I am one of the many lucky kids to have Vetra as a first-grade teacher. Having her as a teacher was extremely fortunate for me. I was a horribly hyperactive kid with ADHD and completely unmedicated. She was very patient with me and tolerated my occasional nervous fits and the fact that I would often stand up and down from my seat for no reason. She didn’t judge; she nurtured. Rest in Peace Vetra.

Vetra was my first grade teacher back when you only had one teacher all day in 1972. I kept in touch with her from time to time throughout the years. She was a great influence in my life and one of the kindest hearted people I ever met. My prayers go out to her family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Vetra over the 11 years we lived in Watson. She was a kind,Christian woman who always had a smile. We were in the same Sunday School class, and I got to learn more about her faith, her big heart, and her sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched. Godspeed Vetra.
