Charles and I graduated from Plaquemine High School in 1951. He asked me to walk with him at our graduation ceremony. We played in the school band under Prof. Higdon. He was so talented with his trumpet that Prof. switched him over to play the tuba and he was magnificent. We rode the school bus together from the 1st to 12th grade. Our families were close friends. My memories are very sweet and I know he will be dearly missed.
