After Hurricane Katrina, he relocated and retired to Gonzales, Louisiana where he was actively involved in the tennis community. He made an impact on many lives and will be greatly missed. Jack is preceded in death by his parents: Ethel Collier and John Marshall Lovejoy Sr. and leaves behind surviving relatives, a daughter: Delzy Lovejoie, three sisters: Victoria Lovejoy Sulzer, Betty Lovejoy, and Tricia Lovejoy, a brother: William Lovejoy, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to Annette Lanoux and Jack Cefalu for their help with caring for Jack over the years. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later time.

I am a long time friend and tennis partner of Jack. Jack went his own way and lived an interesting life. I miss him.

So sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. I pray he went in peace. He was a neighbor of mine years ago and I’ve thought of him often. Prayers to the family may you move forward knowing he can play again and show his beautiful smile.
