Jeffrey Dean Hawkins, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the age of 73. He was born on October 16, 1948.
Jeffrey is survived by his daughter Michele Hawkins (Fiance Justin Walker), son Christopher Hawkins (Brandi), and grandchildren Joseph Hawkins and Carter Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Cathryn Hawkins, and parents Wylie “Sonny” Hawkins and Dorothy Hawkins.
Jeffrey was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and President of the Ham Radio Association “WA5RRT”.
Visiting hours will be held at Seale Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5pm-8pm, and Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church from 10am-12:30pm, with services held at 12:30pm and burial to follow at Denham Springs Memorial.

He was always just “Dad” to so many of us, taking in us lost kids/adults and making us part of his family. He was kind and smart, witty and clever. When people say
, “He never met a stranger” they mean because his heart was so big he welcomed all of us and gave us a place to fit in like the island of misfit toys. You may not have been our blood but we will always consider you family and you will be missed. Till we meet again, we love you Dad.

Jeff “WA5RRT” was my first contact on the radio February 3, 2021. While I have never met him in-person I have spoken with him may times over the year following that afternoon. I will surely miss him.
