Jimmie (Jim) Lea Bel, 71, of Denham Springs, passed away on November 18, 2022, at his home. Jim was born on September 29, 1951 to Earl Malcom Bel and Margaret Cross Bel in Independence, Louisiana. Jim served in the Air Force for 4 years. He retired from Cummins Mid-South after 42 years of service. Jim loved to hunt and fish with his son and grandsons. Jim was a devoted husband of 47 years to Suzanna Prestridge Bel. He was a dedicated father and Pops to his children and grandsons, Sara Bel Lemoine (Glenn Lemoine), Ryan, Jacob, and Philip Davidson and Stephen Bel (Theresa Bankston Bel), Austin and Alex Bel. He is survived by his brothers JW Lindley and Ronnie Jo Bel. Jim was preceded in death by his father Earl Malcom Bel, Sr., his mother Margaret Cross, his brothers Earl Bel Jr., Jean Lindley, and his sister Shirley Bel Langlois. There will be a celebration of life at his home in Denham Springs on November 25 from 1pm-3pm. All are welcome to stop in and share their memories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, an organization Jim was passionate about as a cancer survivor.
