Steven “Steve” Robert Jenkins, at age 58, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, General Manager of Piccadilly for 43 years, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 18th, 2023 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was surrounded by lots of family and love. He is survived by his parents Bob & Elke Worthy, Wife, Suzanne Jenkins, Children, Ashley Jenkins Phillips & Kristin Jenkins Duron, Son-in-laws Dan Phillips and Mike Duron, Brother & Sister, Bobby Worthy & Patty Woodward, Sister & Brother In-laws, Tonya Worthy & Randy Woodward, 4 Grandchildren, 4 Nieces and 6 Nephews.

Steve was a friend to all and a kind and amazing man. He was a dedicated husband, loving father, cherished son and beloved brother, known as Papa to his grandkids and Uncle Steve to his nieces and nephews. In his 43 years of employment with Piccadilly he made lasting friendships and impacted the lives of many.

Steve loved adventure and had a quick sarcastic wit. He strived to have a fun and enjoyable workplace and was loved by many. We hope that all who knew and loved him will come and help us celebrate him at his Celebration of Life Service

His Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 25th, 2023, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at The Rivers Ranch, 1959 Highway 42 North, Jackson, GA 30233. Casual wear is encouraged. He never enjoyed dressing up for events, so let’s honor him and be comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a fund to help cover the cost incurred at the hospital. Any amount is truly appreciated.

I am truly saddened by this news, and my condolences go out to the family and all his employees. I spoke with Mr. Jenkins a couple of years ago and requested Piccadilly bring back the cauliflower cheese dish, and sure enough he did. Upon entering the restaurant he’d say with a big smile on his face, “here comes the cauliflower lady” Mr. Jenkins, this cauliflower lady will miss that big smile your awesome hospitality!

Steve and I were childhood friends and next door neighbors. My love for him is that of a child, of neighborhood antics of all kinds; from playing in the woods, forts, bikes, basketball and so much more. From spending the night to Steve’s first car, his El Camino, so many memories and the best memories, those of a more innocent time. Love you Steve. Your friend, Leroy

I send my deepest condolences to the family. Steve was the best boss anyone could have. He was always professional and had a quick wit on comebacks when the situation warranted. As the Lead Baker at Piccadilly, Juban Crossing, we all grew together as we opened this restaurant. Steve was very understanding of many situations a person could go through and met them with the calm, compassion, and would help anyone he could on and off work. To the best boss I ever had, we will all miss you. May the peace of God continue to flow to the family, friends, and coworkers of this great man, Amen. God Bless
