November 2, 1972 – May 18, 2023

Robert “Clay” Chess, a beloved brother and uncle, passed away at the age of 50 at his home in Pine Grove, LA Thursday May 18, 2023.

Clay leaves behind his two fur babies, Lilbit and Church. He didn’t have any children of his own and treated his fur babies like they were his children. He would feed them before he would feed himself. He took great care of them.

Clay had many hobbies that he loved; playing guitar, spending time on the water, fishing, writing songs, tending to his garden and plants, and taking care of his land. He had a few genres of music that he loved to listen to such as Country (real Country music), Metal and Rock.

Clay is preceded in death by his father Robert C. Chess, mother Virgie Belle Kent, three uncles Jimmy, Cecil, and Grady, four aunts Louise, Gracie, Ginny and Minnie Pearl, and great nephew Austin Jr.

He is survived by his sisters Angie Cavin (Ray), and Pam Cavin (Jeremy), a brother Kevin Chess  (Jenny), nephews Steven Cavin (Therese), Tony Cavin, and JP Cavin (Jordan), nieces Katreena “Katie” Cavin, Kristina “Krissy” Cavin, Jessica Cavin, Brittany Cavin, Jay Sledge (Jack), Star Pickett, and Deserae Pickett, four great nieces Mariah, Aubree, Amelia, and Addilyn and five great nephews Justin, Evan, Gunner, Dylan, and Cruize. He was loved by all and will very much be missed.
