Gladys Tyler Tucker died on May 25, 2023. She was born Gladys Ernestine Tyler on Jan 9, 1942 at home in Walker, LA. She led a life of many pursuits, partnering with her late husband George Tucker in founding Tucker’s Seafood in Plaquemine, LA, a prosperous seafood restaurant and market, with multiple other locations over the years. Gladys was proudly anticipating the upcoming celebration of the 50th anniversary of Tucker’s Seafood to be held at its current location in Zachary, LA later this year. She loved to garden, fish, hunt, and spend time outside and with her family and friends. She loved her best friends Gary and Michelle Ayo dearly, with whom she shared many laughs and good times with. Gladys had a strong personality, and would give you a lecture on the world going to hell in a handbasket one second and whip you up the best batch of fried seafood you’d ever eaten in the next. She was a spitfire with a soft heart and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her brothers Glenn and Kearney Tyler, daughters Donna Gordy (Phil) and  Dana Tucker (Stacey Lawrence), grandchildren Tyler Koch (Cary) , Bro. Lazarus-Phillip Gordy, Blair Piras (Manny), Donna Katherine Menezes (Christian), Trey Hopper (Kayla), Lauren Lawrence, April Garner Matejowsky (Garrett), Hunter Lawrence, Kileigh Hanner, great grandchildren Isabel Koch, Noah Koch, Cannon Koch, Auguste Piras, Stella Matejowsky, Adele Matejowsky and Tucker Hopper as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Quinnie Tyler, and by her siblings Evelyn Erwin, Cecil Tyler, Raymond Tyler, Earlene Roby and Virginia Cockerham. I am sorry for your loss. May God comfort you during this time.

I have fond memories of both Mrs. Gladys and Mr. George.
Mrs. Gladys’ reaction to our high school adventures were always priceless. From beer being poured on me at the camp in Grand Isle to the famous Toga party being shut down, her reactions were always priceless. I will forever have fond memories of them both.
Forever together now, Mrs. Gladys and Mr. George ❤️

Mrs Gladys will be greatly missed. She and Mr George encouraged every child that was in 4-H and FFA. She was also very strong minded when she was telling you how to drive that pig in front of the judges. LOL. I will never forget being in Covington at the livestock show while she screamed at me to get the pig in front of the Judge. Between Mrs Gladys and Mrs Patricia I made out like a bandit and won.

I cannot express how sorry I am for the family and also the family that will never know her on earth. I remember so many laughs we shared together. She and Mr. George were great together while Mrs. Gladys talked about the gas prices, Mr. George would tell her to stop running the roads. I remember salting Alligator skins and later cooking in their kitchen. I also remember the heart-to-heart talks with Mrs. Gladys she would always listen and always gave good advice. She was always bragging about her grandchildren. The comfort is God’s promise, Mr. George and Mrs. Gladys are together again.
