Clyde Verrett December 3, 1935-December 21, 2023. Clyde Verrett passed away on December 21, 2023 at 88 years of age. He was born in Morgan City, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard “Nick” Verrett and Mary Lee Verrett; brother, Richard “RJ” Ernest Verrett Jr; and son, Allan Dale Verrett. He is survived by his children Andrew Richard Verrett (Donna), Michael Robert Verrett (Melissa), Glenn Ryan Verrett (Susan), and Terrie Page Verrett Junda (Lawrence). He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren and two step grandchildren: Sandy Smith and Keri Reynolds: Amy Cunnigham and Kevin Doss; Christopher, Brian and Sean Verrett;  Travis and Timothy Verrett, and Elizabeth Hedge; Zachary, Everett and Laurel Junda. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Jenna and Jake Smith; Brady Reynolds; Gracie, Nate and Grant Cunnigham; Lydia, Abigail, Luke and Anastasia Verrett; and Bailey and Anderson Verrett, Amber, Ashlynn, Grayson and Samuel Verrett.

Clyde was a man of faith and all those who knew him spoke of kindness and gracious manners. His brilliant blue eyes matched his brilliant mind. He was well read and could speak in length and depth on many topics. He loved sports especially boxing, baseball and basketball. He was an excellent baseball player. He played catcher for the Klingsville Aces.  He loved to use his computer and the internet. He was the keeper of the family pictures and family birthday calendar. He was a member of the Masonic Doric Lodge #87 F&AM in Morgan City, Louisiana. Clyde resided in Bayou Vista until 2021 when he relocated to Livingston Parish to be near his children. Clyde’s legacy is his faith in Jesus Christ and his love for his children and grandchildren. Clyde’s Bible was opened to the book of Matthew, Chapters 10-12. Verses he had highlighted included Matthew 12: 28-30, “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Wednesday, December 27 from 1 pm until service at 3 pm with burial immediately following in Evergreen Memorial Park.
